Home Assistant now supports Sonoff without Flashing!!!

Great new for Home Assistant user!!!

If you are running Home Assistant (HA) and have Sonoff devices linked to it, you would probably know that sometimes flashing these Sonoff devices can be a pain or it stops you from using HA entirely! .... BUT not anymore. 

Home Assistant now supports Sonoff devices without flashing, thanks to this new Addon called SonoffLAN by AlexxIT.

You can now install this addon by viewing his github page.

Steps to follow:

  1. Latest HACS require HA 0.110.0 or newer
  2. Update your configuration file as below
sonoff:
  username: [email protected]
  password: mypassword

        or


sonoff:
  username: +27837876545  # important to use country code
  password: mypassword

Installing a Sonoff Gate Switch By installing a Sonoff Gate Switch  will allow you to open or close your your driveway gate from your cellphone, voice assistance or even your smart home hub like Home Assistant Setup the Gate Switch Below is a typical setup. You will power the Gate Switch by connecting the 12V/24V and NEGATIVE (or COM ) to the Gate Switch as shown above. Then connect the TRG to NO  pin and the COM on the gate motor to the COM on the switch. Some technical terms TRG - This is the Trigger pin on the motor. This pin allows the gate to open or close.
